The unique free sliding weight makes this rig one of the most effective way to fish.  It slides to the back of the hook when cast, for a longer cast. When twitched the weight slides to the back, changing the weight distribution, and allowing the lure to dart side to side.  When allowed to fall, the weight slides to the middle of the hook.  The bait falls in a horizontal attitude, swimming toward the bottom.  As it falls to the bottom, the lure has a shimmy or fluttering action giving it a dying baitfish action on the way down.  This lure has been extremely effective  when fished around grass brush and other structure in water les that 6 feet deep.   It is equally as effective in schooling fish when darted then allowed to flutter down.   Fish just can't resist the lure when the darting actions and the falling fluttering actions  are combined.

After many years studying different colors and their effect on fish research has shown that UV (Ultraviolet) light plays a greater role in attracting fish than we have ever known.  We have used florescent colors for many years knowing they worked better in dirty water, and deeper depths, but never truly knew why until now.  Test shows that UV rays from the sun can penetrate deeper in both clear and dirty water. In nanometers, lower numbers penetrate the water column deeper than higher frequencies of light. For example, Red 700 nm, orange 630, yellow 550, green 500, blue 450, violet 400 represents the spectrum of light that penetrates shallowest to deepest. Because fish see ultraviolet light, (UVA) which is just beyond the violet frequency at 400nm to 320 nm, it can penetrate to depths greater than 500 feet in crystal clear water. Ultraviolet light’s main source comes mainly from the sun and to a lesser degree, other stars. Ultraviolet light causes some objects to glow, or become “fluorescent” upon contact. Molecules in the object gain energy on contact with UV light and then release the energy in the form of visible light. This glow is what some fish look for when searching for food.  Sisson’s Secret Sauce uses this technology along with scents to change normal plastic lures into UV sensitive lures. It gives natural colored lures a glow in low light and dirty water conditions, but on clear bright days, it is unseen.  For best results, put 10-12 drops into the bag of 8-10 soft plastics lures, the night before you plan to fish.
